Guler Appliance Co. begins each day with a goal of making people's lives better and helping them enjoy more moments that matter. The third-generation family owned business is located in the Midtown District of Rockford and carries a variety of quality appliance brands including Sub Zero, Wolf, Viking, GE, Monogram, Cafe', Bosch and Speed Queen."The consumer today wants value. They want service," says Darwyn Guler, CEO. "Service isn't just repairing things. It's answering questions and being capable of helping them where they need to be helped."A business major in college, Guler began working full-time at the appliance store in 1967. Originally founded in 1928, the Guler family became a part of the business in 1936 and has since maintained a laser focus on relationships and approaching customer service as an attitude.Guler remains one of the region's premier one-stop shops for all things appliances. From dishwashers and refrigerators to washer and dryers to ranges and microwaves. They have called 227 Seventh Street home for 80 years, giving Guler a distinct edge. "It is a location of choice," says Guler. "our overhead is low; we own the building and there are other businesses around us that have a center of influence with us from hardware, home furnishings, banking, healthcare and family services."With an appreciation for Rockford businesses built on longevity and history, Guler stays competitive while offering full-service capacities. Its offerings include free delivery, new home construction quotes, remodeling, buying assistance, professional installation, parts and service."Our greatest efficiency is to deal with what we own," Guler says. "We don't pay rent, and we have our own employees to help people." Gulers are proud of their history and are privileged to serve Rockford and surrounding communities for generations to come. "The transformation into the future is exciting."
